This extremely rare gemstone of fairly recent history owes its name to the fact that it was first discovered in the Urals in 1830, on the day of Prince Alexander of Russia’s coming of age. Not only is it rare, but has one of the most unique qualities of all gemstones, it will change colors depending on the lighting. In daylight it will appear an Emerald green, and once inside it will appear a Ruby red color. “Emerald by day Ruby by night” In addition to its rarity, it is quite durable with a hardness of 8.5. Although natural stones are quite expensive, there our man-made Alexandrite identical chemically to natural Alexandrite and much more affordable.

Why do you like to wear diamonds? When I’m wearing them the people I meet seem to give me a little more notice (especially in stores). They treat me just a little better. That’s one . Tell us yours.
